Message:  Okay, I know this doesn't have much to do with math, but I thought I might be able to get some advice here...
I have a sister who is two years older than me. She's basically a model student. She got all A's on her report card and won the Student of the Year award and basically is Genius Extraordinaire.
That's excactly the problem. Now I am 'following her footsteps', trailing in them is more like it. All the teachers want me to be just like her, the legendary prodigy. But I'm not. I'm ME. Not a genius, really; only talented when it comes to pelting someone with a snowball while being pelted. Everyone is disappointed when I don't do as well as her, and when I get a bad grade, my dad says to me, 'Look at your sister.' I really don't know what to do. My sister says that I have more brains than her, and that I just don't try hard enough, but I'm at the end of my tether here! Does anyone have advice? Should I work harder to find my own talent? Am I not trying hard enough? Should I ignore my expectations and live my own life? Should I give up the struggle to jump out of my sister's shadow?
If anyone would respond, via email or bulletin board, I would be incredibly grateful.
